Days after Bulgaria decided to pull its troops out of Iraq by the end of 2005, the United States has assessed its contribution to coalition efforts in Iraq and voiced willingness for more cooperation during the reconstruction of the country, Sofia News Agency reported.

Bulgaria has been a firm supporter of operations in Iraq

"We've been very, very happy and pleased with the fact that Bulgaria has been such a strong supporter of our operations in Iraq. They've been a strong member of the Multinational Force and the Coalition," State Department spokesman Tom Casey said during a press briefing.

"I'm sure we look forward to continuing cooperation with them as we move forward in the reconstruction of Iraq."
