Iraq to resume bilateral relations with world states (01/03/05)


Iraq is to review all valid agreements signed with world countries, with the aim of activating them towards enhancing commercial, economic and cultural relations with world countries in all domains. The ministers' council created a specialised committee, included representatives of foreign, trade, finance, culture, transport ande health ministries.

In this regard, an official source from the foreign economy relations section of the Ministry of Trade announced that the committee had ended its works, having engaged in preliminary talks with the Zech side to settle the subject of valid agreements in the field of commercial and economic cooperation.

Following the draft of commercial, economic and technical agreement between Iraqi and Nigerian ministries and concerned sides to offer proposals and notes with the aim of achieving programs of the said agreement, the Ministry of Trade submitted the minutes for a meeting of a joint Iraqi-Turkish committee to be approved later on.

The Ministry of Trade was successful in registering 214 Iraqi companies as well as two other foreign companies. An authorised source at the ministry said that these companies included 194 limited companies, 12 limited responsibility companies and eight unilateral projects. The activities of these companies ranged from commercial to contracting and other different activities.

The source added that the registering department had issued 23 decisions to amend contracts of already registered companies, among which are 15 limited companies and seven limited responsibility companies.
