South Korea's LG Cable wins $5 million Iraqi telecoms order (29/10/04)


 
LG Cable will provide lines of communication for Iraq's universities
 

LG Cable Ltd has announced that it has secured a $5 million order to build a telecom network in Iraq as part of the South Korean government aid program, according to reports.

The company said in a statement that it will build a telecom network linking 19 universities in Iraq.

The company noted that it plans to focus on Iraq's modernisation of fixed-line and wireless telecom network infrastructure, using it as a spring-board to tap into other Middle East countries.
