Ministry of Construction announces progress in building residential complexes (14/09/04)


Iraq's Ministry of Construction and Housing has announced the completion of a number of important stages in building residential complexes including 1,824 units at a cost of 49 billion dinars.
 
The reconstruction effort continues
 

A director from the ministry announced that the Al-Mansur Company for Contracts will be involved in the reconstruction of a complex in the Sabaa Abkar area in Baghdad. The complex includes 288 residential units at a cost of 7 billion dinars. The units are in two kinds, differing in shape but consisting of the same area.

The company will also continue working in the Banja complex in Kirkuk for the construction of 600 units at a cost of 15.8 billion dinars. The director also stated that the company will continue working in the Banja complex in Nineveh to build 504 residential units at a cost of 18 billion dinars.

The Al-Farooq Company is aiding the construction of a complex in Karbalaa, which will include 432 units at a cost of 8.8 billion dinars. These complexes form part of a plan by the Ministry of Construction and Housing to solve Iraq's continuing housing crisis. The ministry needs to build 2.5 million units before the year 2007.
