General Company of Sugar to run Al-Sulymania factory (15/08/04)


The General Company of Sugar Industry has shows its readiness to employ its full capabilities and experts to run the Al-Sulymania sugar factory in the northern territory of Iraqi Kurdistan.
 
Iraq has a high demand for sugar
 

Mohammed Nouri, general director of the company, said that rerunning the factory would raise the production of the sugar substance company to about 25 per cent of the country's needs.

The company has two factories that produce sugar; one in south - the Maisan sugar factory - and the other in Mosul. Production levels in the factory are dependent on sugarcane, dependent on farming sugar beet. Constituents of the sugar industry - in addition to alcohol - are used in medical and pharmacy materials in the country.
