Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Khoshiyar Zibari this weekend held a meeting with Russian Federation Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Secretary of the Security Council Igor Ivanov during a working visit to Moscow.
Issues discussed at the meeting included the prospects of bilateral cooperation, in particular the freezing of Russian-Iraq economic projects, the course of political process on development of the Iraq national structures and the role that the international community can play in this cause.
On the results of the meetings, Zibari informed journalists that the government is interested in establishing balanced relations with all countries and with Russia in all areas. He stated that the situation in Iraq is not frozen, with the promotion of safety and stability in the country aiding the reconstruction of the Iraqi economy with the assistance of the global community.
