New airport on Jordanian-Iraqi borders for facilitating investor movement (01/10/05)


The Jordanian government decided to establish a new airport near Al Karama borders station with Iraq, for facilitating the air transportation movement between the two countries.
 
Jordan-Iraq flights will help investment
 
Awni Yerfas, interior minister, said that the new airport would connect the Jordanian capital of Amman and Aqaba with the Jordanian-Iraqi borders that are witnessing the execution of a number of economic projects, including a free industrial zone, a private economic zone and housing projects for the local and foreign workforce that is working in these projects. He pointed out that a committee including a number of officials, experts and consultants of the transportation ministry has been created for setting the necessary plans for establishing the airport.
