Iraqi radio skills are looking to improve

The Institute for War & Peace Reporting said that several female Iraqi radio hosts had arrived in the United States on Thursday and would spend the next several weeks training in New York, Washington and Boston.

Air America's Laura Flanders, Monica Crowley of WABC and MSNBC and WOR's Joan Hamburg are among several US professionals sharing their expertise as well as providing in-studio training to the Iraqi guests, the institute said in a news release.

IWPR, an international organisation supported by major western development agencies and private foundations, has been training print journalists in Iraq since 2003. The non-profit agency only recently started working with Iraq's radio personalities and news people as well.
