Perini receives $185 million in awards for force protection in Iraq (19/10/05)


Perini Corporation, a building and civil construction company, has received two task order awards to design and construct overhead coverage systems at 55 locations across Iraq in support of the US Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) construction programs. The structures will provide additional protection for existing base facilities.

One award is for $119,283,840; the second award is for $65,236,916. Both awards were competitively made under an existing contract to provide design-build construction related services within the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Operations.

During the past two years, Perini has been active in Iraq reconstruction projects, the majority of which have been in the electrical generation, transmission and distribution sector.
