Motorola highlights long-term commitment to Iraq (23/09/05)
The telecoms company Motorola has stressed its commitment to aiding the development of Iraq. Speaking on the sidelines of a recent tradeshow, Mazin Al-Eshaiker, country manager for Motorola in Iraq, said that the company was "delighted to reinforce our long-term commitment to help with the reinvigoration of the country of Iraq", with particular emphasis placed on the northern region of Iraqi-Kurdistan.

Motorola is committed to using its latest technologies to aid Iraqi development, comprising mobile phones, cellular networks, mission-critical communications equipment and connected home solutions.
The company has stressed its dedication to enabling seamless mobility for customers in Iraq, showcasing products for GSM, WLL-CDMA, iDEN, APCO25 and TETRA networks, as well as broadband communications solutions and cable modems.

Motorola and its partners have been active in Iraq sionce April 2003 with mission-critical radio communications for public safety and other applications, as well as equipment that has provided mobile phone services to more than two million subscribers.
Current communication needs in Iraq include security and public safety, extending to utilities sectors such as oil, water, electric power generation and distribution, education and healthcare institutions such as schools, clinics and hospitals, the transportation industry including railroads, ports, airways and waterways and the broader, constantly evolving communications sector.
