In a meeting with members of Iraq's Karbala Chamber of Commerce, the governor pointed to Ilam's 430 km long borderline with Iraq, adding that it bears most of the land trade exchange between the two countries.
He implied that Mehran border customs is fully capable of storing and exporting goods to Iraq, stating that over $80 million of various goods and services are exported to Iraq via Mehran every year. On his part, the head of Karbala Chamber of Commerce noted that Iraqi tradesmen are keen to have trade exchanges with their Iranian partners.
