The Iraqi government has set aside $46 million to build a new hospital in Fallujah, the central Iraqi city.

$46 million hospital will provide a great asset to Iraq

"The building of this hospital has a strong symbolic value becase it is happening in a city which has suffered a lot of oppression and tyranny," said industry minister Asama al-Najafi at the ceremony to mark the placing of the first stone of the building.

Hajafi personally inspected Fallujah, which is located near the capital Baghdad in the Sunni area.

The industry ministry has also announced that other projects are in the pipeline, including a residential complex worth $20 million. Meanwhile, work is continuing to restore public services.
