Obtaining your visa for the UAE

If your company representatives require a transit visa for the UAE then they will need to take the following steps:

If you are staying at the Shangri-La Hotel , the official hotel for the summit, a number of documents are required for the processing of a transit visa, should your company representatives require one for access to the UAE. These are:

Clear passport-size coloured photograph of the applicant in JPG format

Clear coloured passport copy scanned (this should preferably be emailed as a scan to reservations.sldb@shangri-la.com)

Front and back copy of the credit card details of the guest staying at the summit

If the guarantee is issued by a third party a separate letter should be issued stating the guest's name, date of stay and the following liability clause: "in case of non arrival, last minute cancellation or any fine brought about by Dubai Immigration for any violation of Dubai laws and regulation while the guests are in the country, the card holder will be responsible for these fees"

A letter of request from the Iraq Development Program stating the guest names, date of stay and for what purpose

A 2-page visa application form signed on behalf of the individual guests (signature should match credit card signature unless providing the letter mentioned above)

When applying for a visa through the Shangri-La Hotel, please note the following:

The visas applied for are online transit visas, these are subject to approval by the UAE Immigration Department

A minimum of three working days (excluding Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) are required for processing all visas

The Shangri-La Hotel does not guarantee that the entry visa will be issued, nor can it be held liable in the event that the application is denied or delayed by the Immigration Department for whatever reason

A processing fee of AED 450.00 will be charged per person and has to be prepaid at least 7-10 working days in advance. This fee is non-refundable and subject to revision by UAE authorities

In the case of the visa being rejected, the visa fee will still be charged

Visas are only valid for guests arriving at Dubai International Airport and may not be used in any other international airport in the UAE

Once the visa has been issued by the hotel, guests are required to stay only in the Shangri-La Hotel for the entire duration of their stay in the country

A penalty of AED 8,000 will be charged to the guest's credit card for any violation of the above requirements

If you are staying at a different hotel then please contact their reservations department and ask for the person responsible for Government visas. We strongly recommend immediate application to any other hotel you may be staying at, giving a minimum of two weeks prior to travel.
