As well as the above sectors, the Ministry of Trade is responsible for company registration, import/export licensing and economic relations with other countries. Any company wishing to do business in Iraq must work with the Ministry of Trade to meet correct procedures for registration and trading.

From the above industry sectors, the Ministry of Trade is specifically looking for companies who can supply goods and materials to meet their ongoing requirements of reconstruction and development. The Minister and his Director Generals will be attending the summit with specific tendering requirements. All delegate companies will have the chance to meet the Minister and those Director Generals to discuss the procedure for tendering.

Unique Format

The Iraq Development Program (IDP) has organised 14 high-level summits in partnership with the Iraqi Government. The most recent of these successes, the Iraq Oil, Gas, Petrochemical & Electricity Summit, was founded on a format whereby half the summit time is devoted to speeches and presentations and the other half devoted to one-to-one meetings.

The Minister, HE Abdul Falah Al-Sudani, will give an opening presentation outlining the strategy and requirements of the Ministry of Trade

Director Generals will provide specific details of the goods and materials that they require and detail specific tendering and contract opportunities

The afternoons will see private roundtables set up for the Minister and each of the Director Generals allowing for pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings
