IDP Events

The Iraq Development Program is the number one business summit for Iraq. Its meetings-based event structure, operating under the slogan of 'Meet the Partners', looks to deconstruct the traditional 'lecture and listen' notion of business conferencing, placing more of a focus on the importance of face-to-face interaction with the key business leaders and decision makers.

The aim of this event model is to create a networking model that truly facilitates global business interaction and will prove to be of benefit both to the people of Iraq and to the many global corporations in attendance.

A number of events using this business model have been held so far. Please find below a series of reports detailing our successes from those events.

Iraq Oil, Gas, Petrochemical & Electricity Summit 2007- Dubai
The leading figures from within the global energy sector gathered in Dubai on 2-4 September 2007 for the Iraq Oil, Gas, Petrochemical & Electricity Summit, the world’s first event organised to consider the future of Iraq’s abundant energy resources through direct consultation with the international private sector.

Iraq Information Communication (ICT) & Education Summit 2007- Sharjah
The summit was organised to determine Iraq’s strategy for building relationships with leading global companies to bring best-in-breed technology, training and management skills to the country, welcoming a delegation of senior level officials from the government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Iraq Security, Technology & Communications Summit (ISTC) 2006 - Sharjah
A key Iraqi business summit organised for the security, defence and information and communications technology sector, supported by the Iraqi Ministries of National Security Affairs, Defence, Interior, Communications, Science & Technology and Industry. The summit was the first of its kind to take place, as Iraq looks to develop its internal protection measures and use advanced technology solutions to improve its information and communications infrastructure.

Iraq Mobile Telecoms Conference 2005 - London
A joint venture between the Iraq Development Program and Iraq's National Communications & Media Commission (NCMC) and supported by the Iraqi Ministry of Communications, the Iraq Mobile Telecommunications Conference was held to announce opening the sector up to competition, providing vital information on the commission’s plans to issue new licenses in December.

Iraq Development Program 2005 - Amman
Over 400 companies and organisations will descend on Amman to meet with senior representatives from the Iraqi private sector, ministerial officials and state owned representatives to promote and facilitate commercial development within Iraq, generate investment into the country and aid the formation of trade partnerships.

The international business community descended on Amman, Jordan on 22-24 November 2004 for an event organised to realise the enormous trade and investment potential of Iraq.

Iraq Oil Gas 2004 - Amman
Experts from the Iraqi oil and gas sector gathered in Amman, Jordan to take part in a special meeting involving senior figures from the Iraqi oil industry and major global corporations. The meeting provided a number of opportunities for specially selected companies involved in the rebuilding process in Iraq.

Iraq Procurement 2004 - London
Over 200 companies and organisations from around the world gathered in London in April to discuss the wide range of economic opportunities available. The event was open to interested businesses and organisations from all countries, immediately following the awarding of up to $18.4 billion in contracts from the US Congress.
